Suria KLCC X LEGO Play Run 2026 Draws Thousands In Southeast Asian Debut
KUALA LUMPUR, June 12 (Bernama) -- The Suria KLCC x LEGO® Play Run 2026 made its Southeast Asian debut on June 6, drawing thousands of participants and marking the finale of a nationwide LEGO-themed wellness campaign.
In a statement, Suria KLCC said the two-kilometre experiential run concluded the multi-week LEGO® MY Play Festival, which transformed Suria KLCC and KLCC Park into a large-scale LEGO-themed celebration from May 21 to June 7.
Organised as part of Suria KLCC's annual mental and physical wellbeing initiative, the event combined physical fitness, real-world connection, and interactive storytelling.
“Participants completed a specially designed two-kilometre route around KLCC Park, navigating a series of obstacles and activity stations designed to encourage collaboration and cognitive development away from digital screens.
“Runners were flagged off in dedicated sessions throughout the day and completed their experience by collecting exclusive LEGO®-themed runner kits and interlocking block-inspired finisher medals,” the statement said.
According to the statement, the celebration culminated in a LEGO® 3D projection mapping showcase that illuminated the exterior façade of the iconic Suria KLCC shopping mall.
“The visual finale, displayed between 8 pm and 10 pm on June 6 and 7, featured larger-than-life LEGO® brick-building animations celebrating global play culture and Malaysian heritage, drawing thousands of visitors to the Esplanade,” it said.
The programme also featured the 'Safe Space' mental health initiative, held from May 25 to June 7, which offered workshops and support activities in collaboration with the Mental Illness Awareness & Support Association (MIASA), Malaysian Mental Health Association (MMHA), NYAWA, The Befrienders KL, IHH Healthcare and Petrosains.
Suria KLCC executive director and chief executive officer Francis Tan said the campaign reflected the organisation’s commitment to combining retail experiences with community wellbeing initiatives.
“At Suria KLCC, we have always aimed to push the boundaries of traditional retail spaces through purpose-driven experiential events that enrich the local community. This landmark partnership with The LEGO® Group reflects that ambition.
“By combining LEGO’s philosophy of hands-on discovery with our annual mental and physical health advocacy, we successfully elevated a school holiday celebration into a deeply impactful force for social good," he said.
Francis said the strong turnout demonstrated public interest in real-world engagement beyond digital experiences, while the combination of physical activities, tenant engagement and mental health support created a holistic wellness experience.
The festival also featured indoor and outdoor activities, including large-scale LEGO® installations such as a replica of the Petronas Twin Towers built with more than 51,000 bricks, interactive Minifigure experiences and football-themed activities held in conjunction with the build-up to the FIFA World Cup 2026.
The event was supported by KLCC Holdings Sdn Bhd and official healthcare partner IHH Healthcare, with on-site medical support provided by Gleneagles Hospitals, Pantai Hospitals and Prince Court Medical Centre to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for visitors.
